PhD CMSE and Math at MSU | Data Scientist | Machine Learning

About

I am a PhD graduate from the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering - CMSE and the Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University advised by Dr. Jose A. Perea. I obtained this degree with my thesis Applications of Persistent Cohomology to Dimensionality Reduction and Classification Problems.

Before MSU, I completed my MSc in Mathematics at Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia and my BSc in Mathematics with a minor in Economy from the same institution. My master’s dissertation was advised by Dr. Andrés Angel and Dr. Jose A. Perea.

Curriculum vitae

Interests

My research interests lays between algebraic topology, topological data analysis and computational mathematics and its many applications to data science, machine learning and signal processing.

My passion is to find interesting problems and data sets where the tools available in TDA can be used to find innovative solutions and models to describe the world around us.
